A Christmas gift that turned into a beautiful fami A Christmas gift that turned into a beautiful family memory 🎄✨
Yesterday’s cooking class was a special one.
It was a Christmas present from a husband to his wife.
The whole family gathered in their home,
recreating the flavours they once enjoyed together in Japan —
laughing, cooking, remembering.

They chose:
✨ Carefully Selected Seafood
✨ TOMO’s Special – 2 Signature Recipes

And what touched me most was what they said:
“We never imagined we could create something this delicious together at home.”
“It’s eye-opening.”
“From start to finish, we just had so much fun.”

No pressure.
No stress.

Just family, food, and beautiful memories being made again.
This is why I do what I do.
Food is not just cooking.
It’s connection. It’s celebration. It’s love.
If you’re looking for a unique gift or private experience,
let’s create something special together.

Last night’s 4 Step Wellness – Digestive Journey | Last night’s 4 Step Wellness – Digestive Journey | Cooking Part 2 🍽️🌿 at @bar_deco_yandina
Delicious food.
Wellbeing.
Learning.
Fun.
And real connection.
Many participants had already completed Part 1 —
but this program is designed so you can join from any step.
Starting with Part 2 is absolutely welcome.
The evening began gently, with Dandelion Chai tea,
stories about New Zealand, shared experiences, and relaxed conversations.
So relaxed, in fact, that we started a little late — in the best possible way.
Before cooking even began, the room was already full of thoughtful questions and sharing.
We talked about gut repair, blood sugar balance,
why night waking, teeth grinding, or jaw clenching can happen,
and the quiet power of koji, miso, and Japanese bone broth.
Then we cooked.
Five nourishing dishes, one shared plate.
Simple Japanese ingredients, prepared with care and intention.
And after the class…
people were still talking.
Exchanging messages.
New friendships already beginning.
This is more than a cooking class.
It’s a space where food brings people together
Noosa weekends always feel a bit slower. Good food Noosa weekends always feel a bit slower.
Good food,
good drinks,
and time to sit with people.
I really like how food experiences here
are about sharing, not rushing.
That feeling —
slowing down and enjoying food together —
is something I try to bring
into my Japanese cooking experiences as well.
This February,
I’ll be sharing that same calm, nourishing approach
through a small sushi experience at @headsofnoosataproom
focusing on balance, flavour,
and simple, nutrient-rich Japanese food.
If you’re curious,
I’ll be there on Wednesday 18 Feb and Sunday 22 Feb (afternoon).
