TOMOHIRO AKUTSU(TOMO)

As a young boy, my visits to the fish markets with my dad would later inspire me to
explore and create different ways of preparing delicious cuisine for my work mates, friends and family in Japan.

A desire to study English and learn more about western culture brought me to Australia in 2009 where I wanted to continue my cooking adventures using readily available, locally sourced, seasonal produce along with a fusion of healthy Japanese cuisine.
My Japanese Cuisine Classes which I started in 2014 have been introduced into the homes and locations of many south east Queenslanders.

Cooking isn’t just about the food. It’s about what’s happens at the table.
My ultimate goal is to share my Japanese culture into Australia and make people feel comfortable and taken care of so that they can just enjoy the moment and maybe eventually pass that kindness on to others.
Cooking for them, with them, just happens to be the easiest way I can do that.
Anyone can learn to cook and do it well. Be thoughtful. Be curious.
Do you want to have an unforgettable sensory experience?
A day or night spent with me is a truly memorable experience.
